Getting here
Please note, Toolleen Country Retreat will not be operational until 2011.
We are eager to see you and our canine guest arrive safely. We suggest your dog travels either in a dog crate, or in an appropriate dog seat belt.
This is Zulu on the right, who is wearing his doggy seatbelt to ensure all car trips are safe for him and his people. We also suggest a towel or blanket to be used, so that you don't stress from any potential mess on your car seat.
We also recommend that a dog leash is handy, as all dogs coming into , and leaving, Toolleen Country Retreat are required to be on leash.
Toolleen Country Retreat is about 90 minutes from the centre of Melbourne, and an easy trip on the way up to Echuca.
From Melbourne
Head north up the Hume, taking the turn off at Wallan towards Echuca. After passing through Heathcote, we are merely 14 minutes away heading up to the right, towards Echuca signs.
Turn left at the Toolleen-Axedale Road, and we are simply the first private road on the left (1.5km from the pub), and then 500 metres up the road.
From Echuca
Head south through Elmore, and head towards Heathcote.
Turn right at the Toolleen-Axedale Road, and we are simply the first private road on the left, and then 400 metres up the road.
From Bendigo
Take the Heathcote road. Just after Axedale is the quarry, turn left after than on the Axedale-Toolleen Road. You will travel through some beautiful country as you head towards our gorgeous property. About a kilometre before you get to the Northern Highway, you will see the edge of the Crosbie Reserve. There is a private road on the right, and Toolleen Country Retreat is an easy 500 metres up the road.
Remember, dogs must be on leash at all time.
